Hello, and welcome to Z & S Imports, or ZSI as we are popularly known. We are your normal German-car loving people, catering to all you normal German-car loving people out there. We live, breathe and drive Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes-Benz products. We specialize in restoration, spare parts, custom engine conversions and used vehicle sales of these brands.
We have been doing this hands-on since 1982, and have it down to a science.
We carry a huge inventory of new, used and rebuilt parts for VW/Audi and Mercedes-Benz, including some real hard-to-find OEM and NOS (new old stock) items, and some NLA (no longer available) jewels, at competitive prices.
We are constantly searching the world over for forgotten treasures hidden in a barn or an old warehouse that we can bring to you, so you can keep your classic looking original and running well.
We can answer most technical questions for you, and give you pointers and advice, having seen, heard and done it all. We have been performing Vanagon & Eurovan engine conversions almost as long as there have been Vanagons & Eurovans on the planet.
To us, this is not just a business, but a way of life.

What warranty comes with new parts?
All our new parts are guaranteed to be free of defects in materials and workmanship, and may also carry a factory warranty that varies by item and manufacturer. New means new: factory-fresh virgin units, not blems, rejects, seconds or pieced-together in-house assemblies like a lot of our competition. All new parts carry a 6-month warranty.
What about used parts?
Used parts are guaranteed to be in decent working condition when sold. Beyond that there are no other warranties or guarantees, either expressed or implied.
What warranty comes with rebuilt or remanufactured parts?
Rebuilt or remanufactured parts, including engines and transmissions, carry a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty. It covers defects in materials and workmanship only.
How do core charges work?
Rebuilt and remanufactured parts are priced with a rebuildable exchange core from you. Core charges vary and are usually refunded when we receive your rebuildable core. Your core must reach ZSI within 30 days of purchase; if it doesn't, the core charge is forfeited. No ifs, ands or buts. If ZSI finds the core too badly damaged to rebuild, the core charge is also forfeited.
What does the warranty not cover?
Damage from abuse, misuse, neglect, accident, off-road or industrial use, improper installation, or use for anything other than the intended purpose; and any unit that has been repaired or altered. The warranty also does not cover shipping charges, labor, towing, rental cars, ripped shirts, busted knuckles, or any other incidental costs, real or imagined. Please note: any warranty on new or rebuilt parts, including engines and transmissions, is void if damage is caused by overheating, running out of oil or other lack of lubrication, improper or incorrect installation, disassembly or tampering by unauthorized personnel (including third-party mechanics), or failure of other parts not directly related to the item purchased. No exceptions.
How is a warranty claim handled?
We repair or replace the defective part, at ZSI's discretion. We can't ship a replacement until we have received the part and confirmed it is defective and covered by the warranty. If you need a part right away, you'll need to buy another one; we issue credit once the defective part arrives and the claim is approved. If the part turns out not to be defective, it is returned to you with no credit issued. ZSI's maximum liability never exceeds the purchase price of the product claimed to be defective, and ZSI is not liable for any loss or incidental or consequential damages, including delays, labor, transportation or other charges for replacement or repair.
Are vehicles sold with a warranty?
All vehicles are sold as-is, with no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied, unless a warranty is negotiated at the time of purchase, at extra cost.
Can I return a part or get a refund?
All sales are final: no refunds or exchanges, no exceptions. Deposits (PayPal, credit card, cash or check) are not refunded if you simply change your mind, because restocking takes time and labor. Returns are accepted only if ZSI determines, after due investigation, that the merchandise is defective or damaged, and it must come back in the original packaging, not disassembled or tampered with. All returns must be pre-authorized by ZSI in writing, and shipping both ways is the buyer's responsibility. Refunds are issued as store credit, or as replacement merchandise if a like part is in stock.
How soon do I need to report a problem?
Let us know in writing immediately, within 72 hours of purchase, so we can try to resolve it to your satisfaction.
Can you special-order a part for me?
Yes, but special-order parts and services are non-returnable under any circumstances. If you ask us to order a part ZSI doesn't have in stock, or to build something specially for you (including special-order labor), you own it. Special-order parts come from third-party vendors, some of them overseas, so they may take up to a month to arrive, which is not something we control.
What will my total be?
The listed price + refundable core charge (where applicable) + shipping & handling, which varies. Nevada residents add 7.75% sales tax.
